Just hours after celebrating her first birthday as a married woman with her closest loved ones (the artist turned 49 yesterday, May 16) Laura Pausini She was forced to dig through her Instagram stories to post a deeply hurtful message.
In fact, the last few hours could not have been more difficult for his beloved country, Emilia Romagna, as it was hit by a series of storms in about 48 hours, causing death and destruction in the four corners of the region it governed Stefano Bonaccini.
As the residents of some provinces in particular (Forlì and Cesena in particular, but also Bologna and Ravenna) know, since last weekend very strong thunderstorms accompanied by violent gusts of wind have caused many rivers in Romagna to flood, causing serious damage and the death of at least 5 people (unfortunately, the toll is constantly updated).
The images shared by locals on social media are nothing short of impressive, showing completely flooded streets and desperate people trying to escape the violence of the water and mud by climbing onto the roofs of their homes and waiting for help. At least 5,000 displaced people are currently waiting for new and safer accommodation.
As is well known, the Romagna artist has an extreme sensitivity and therefore could not help expressing all his confusion to his “neighbors” whose lives were destroyed by the flood.
Laura Pausini’s heartbreaking words for Emilia Romagna: the singer launches an appeal
With a post published on Twitter and Instagram Stories, the singer wanted to launch an appeal to understand how to help the population of Emilia Romagna in this hour of crisis due to the floods. Here are the singer’s words, shared on social media:
I woke up this morning to some really worrying news. I am very concerned about my region, my family, all my friends who live there and my fellow citizens. In fact, the weather situation at the moment is also severely affecting Solarolo, Castelbolognese, Faenza and Forlì (where my family members live, some of whom have been evacuated). On behalf of all the citizens of the cities and towns involved, I ask all Italian institutions to pay the utmost attention to the people of Emilia Romagna, who have always been strong and reactive, but who today really need support. Let me know how I can help you even if I’m far away. Thanks
